Animated CompassNavigating InquiryWorks!
The NetCourse Schedule
The Schedule page includes an outline of the complete syllabus for the InquiryWorks! course:
  • The course consists of six topics -- an Introduction, four topics called Pedagogy, Inquiry, Tools, and Content, and a final practicum.

  • The topics consist of activities, which are basically "chunks" of work to be done asynchronously, but within about one to two week's time.

  • For each activity, there are links to the required reading, hands on activities, and assignments for posting comments in the Discussion Area.

  • In Tools and Content, participants choose one of eleven modules to follow--but whichever strand is chosen, the basic progression is exactly the same, with readings, hands-on, and postings. However, an additional Discussion is made available to you, hosted by a Field Expert. There are eleven new discussions: one per module and the Field Experts are teachers who have already tried the new tool you have chosen in the classroom.

There is also a navigational menu at the "header" or top of the page which looks like this:

By rolling your mouse over each part of the menu, certain parts will be "hot," meaning when you click on them in the activity, they will navigate you directly to that page. A small icon of a hand will appear whenever items are clickable.

Schedule points you to the Schedule page for the whole course.

Discuss points you to the index of the discussion areas for all InquiryWorks! cohorts. It makes the most sense to bookmark the link to your own discussion area instead, and use your bookmark (Netscape) or "favorites" list (Internet Explorer) to access your discussion. To do this, find your cohort in the Discussion Area Homepage, click on that, and then bookmark the page.

You can also navigate from the "footer" or bottom of the page (links are not active here):
